The V2X Cluster met at INESC TEC in Porto on June 27th, taking advantage of the presence of project partners attending the IEEE MELECON Conference.
The meeting counted on eight onsite representatives and six remote participants from the five project cluster partners: EV4EU, SCALE, DriVe2X, FLOW Project and XL-CONNECT.
Jointly organized by INESC ID and the Polis Network, the meeting started with a welcome note by EV4EU project coordinator Hugo Morais followed by updates on the different V2X Cluster topics.
Edwin Bestebreurtje from SCALE presented on Business Models, Bettina Kämpfe from FLOW on the consumer perspective, Alois Steiner from XL-Connect discussed AC vs DC chargers, Gonçalo Mendes from Drive2X provided updates on battery degradation, and Hugo Morais from EV4EU covered Policy & Regulations.
After the round of presentations, other topics of interest were addressed, including the possibility of preparing a joint COST proposal to support V2X cluster activities and organizing a joint event by SCALE/FLOW in October,
This meeting was, according to Hugo Morais (INESC ID), “a great opportunity to discuss the main barriers for the massive development of electric mobility, identify possible solutions, and define a couple of joint actions to increase the impact of all projects promoting both electric mobility and the adoption of V2X solutions.”
The V2X Cluster gathers regularly to discuss latest developments and define strategies and business models for V2X charging, regulatory frameworks at national and EU levels, and cities’ challenges to massify the use of smart charging and V2X.
