On August 19th and 20th,, 2024, the Danish Demo in Bornholm was the stage of another EV4EU technical visit hosted by project partners at DTU. The event took place at the Campus Bornholm test site, where the project team welcomed colleagues and guests, including members of BEOF and Baltic Energy Island, to demonstrate the operation of newly developed autonomous chargers.
According to Mattia Marinelli, EV4EU Demo leader and Head of Section E-mobility and Prosumer Integration at DTU “the team has been working hard on updating the visualization to include information on the chargers in Bornholm and advancing the development of the app’s front end. This visit provides a valuable opportunity to perform the final tests necessary for the correct commissioning of the chargers, including checking phase rotation and instructing the team on how to use the chargers.”
During the two-day visit, the delegation had the chance to explore various sites across the island, making stops at the Campus on both days, welcomed by Mattia Marinelli but also by EV4EU researchers Kristoffer Pedersen, Maria Hach, and Ulrik Andersen.
For the upcoming months, the DTU team will continue working at Campus Bornholm to refine the autonomous chargers and further develop the app’s interface.
“Once the demos site is up and running, we will test different control objectives. For example, we will include power limitation and sharing algorithms; tracking the renewable generation of the local 180 kW PV plant installed at the school; energy scheduling (prioritization of user needs); charging based on electricity price or CO2 content; robustness against communication loss; and user response to varying energy prices. “, shares Mattia Marinelli.
