On November 22nd Klara Anžur and Professor Matej Zajc from the University of Ljubljana (UL), presented the EV4EU project at the 4th Conference of the Slovenian Association for Energy Economics (SAEE) in Slovenia.
During the presentation the team had the opportunity to highlight the crucial role of demonstrators in the development of new services based on the article titled “EV4EU – Managing Electric Vehicles for a Carbon Neutral Europe: Developing Flexibility Services in a Demonstration Environment”, published in the 4th SAEE Conference Proceedings. Authored by Igor Mendek, Tim Marentič, Klara Anžur from the University of Ljubljana (UL), along with Andreja Smole, Hugo Morais, and Matej Zajc, the article emphasizes the importance of practical demonstration environments in the development and validation of flexibility services within the EV4EU project.
In their presentation researchers Klara Anžur and Matej Zajc emphasized the Slovenian demonstrator and the critical role of V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) services in enhancing grid stability and expediting the integration of renewable energy sources. The presentation detailed the testing of business use cases and EV management strategies on the Slovenian demonstrator, showcasing how these innovative approaches are applied in practice
Additionally, they explained the methodology for calculating and utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the economic and technical viability of the proposed solutions, providing a comprehensive assessment of their potential impact.
The conference was structured into two main sessions, beginning with a plenary session and a round table discussion focused on the key challenges of Slovenian energy policy. This was followed by research paper presentations covering a range of topics, including energy policy, renewable energy, electromobility, market development, and decarbonization.
The event brought together a diverse group of energy sector experts, executives, regulators, academics and researchers. It served as a platform for meaningful dialogue on Slovenia’s energy policy challenges and progress in the energy industry. Participants explored the latest developments in the field, exchanged ideas and discussed practical solutions to accelerate the green transition.
