Booster Info Session: reasons why EV4EU joined the service

Since January 2025, the EV4EU Project has been benefiting from Booster‘s Support – a free initiative by the European Commission that helps EU-funded projects across various sectors bring their innovations to market.

On June 18th, Booster hosted an Info Session where Hugo Morais, coordinator of EV4EU, discussed the project’s motivations for joining the Booster services in a conversation with Sara Giordani, the EU expert currently supporting the project through the Go-To-Market (G2M) program.

During his intervention, Hugo highlighted EV4EU’s roadmap within the Booster services, its key contributions to the project, and the motivation behind applying for support.”

“We joined the Booster Services to better understand how to effectively exploit the innovative solutions developed within the EV4EU Project. While the technologies were already in progress, it became clear that aligning them with real market needs required a more strategic approach. Booster gave us the tools and methodologies to frame our solutions through an industrial and user-oriented perspective – refining our exploitation strategy and even revealing opportunities to improve the solutions themselves.”

EV4EU’s research aims to develop innovative solutions and services that enable the large-scale deployment of electric vehicles. This extends beyond the vehicles themselves, encompassing tools to manage charging infrastructure in municipalities, residential complexes, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

“This is where Booster has been crucial – helping us understand the importance of market positioning and the need to clearly frame users’ and customers’ problems. It enabled us to promote our solutions within that context, bridging the gap between current energy demands – across EVs, buildings, and the grid – and delivering a value-driven response. This structured support helped us translate technical developments into a compelling value proposition with real-world impact,” explains Hugo Morais.

The project is currently completing Module B, which focuses on defining the target market and building a strong value proposition – essential to developing a robust exploitation plan. This phase has included several training sessions led by Booster Expert Sara Giordani, with in-depth discussions to refine both the usage model and the exploitation model. These steps are key to ensuring EV4EU solutions are not only technically sound but also market ready.

These efforts will lay the groundwork for a complete business plan, which is the ultimate goal of the Booster Go-To-Market support. The Project coordination team expects this process will significantly strengthen the project’s strategy for bringing its innovations to market impact.

Overall Hugo Morais described the Booster experience as extremely valuable, highlighting its impact on the EV4EU project:

“Booster provided a clear, practical framework to rethink how we position EV4EU’s innovations. We especially valued the program’s focus on user-centered value and market alignment from the start, not as a final step. The support – both strategic and hands-on – helped us refine our value proposition for key target groups like municipalities, SMEs, and fleet managers. Thanks to the mentoring, especially from Sara, we’re now more confident and better equipped to navigate the challenges of exploitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement.”

Following Hugo’s intervention, Alessia Melasecche Germini, Booster Framework Coordinator, gave an overview presentation of the Booster services, concluding with a Q&A session.
