EV4EU featured at Smart Summit in Lagoa

The EV4EU project was highlighted at the Smart Summit in Lagoa in the Azores, held from October 24-26, 2024. The summit is one of the largest innovation and entrepreneurship events in the Azores, bringing together entrepreneurs, companies, and enthusiasts to explore and discuss the latest trends in technology, business, and innovation.

Representing EDP NEW, João Maciel participated in the ‘Energy Revolution’ roundtable, where he promoted the EV4EU project alongside other R&D initiatives involving regional partners such as Electricidade dos Açores (EDA) and Direção Regional de Energia, among many others working together to make the energy transition in the Azores a reality.

At the event, EDA and Direção Regional de Energia – members of the EV4EU consortium who were represented by Fernando Henriques and Joana Rita, respectively – discussed the work being developed under the project at the demonstrator site in the Azores.

At EDA’s demonstration site, the project is testing EV Fleet Management for SMEs focusing on light passenger transport. With six charging points, the site will support a fleet of at least 32 electric vehicles and test Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) smart control strategies tailored to the needs of companies managing their fleets.
