In a buzzing atmosphere at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, students gathered for the ICT Career Day to connect with future employers and explore career opportunities in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The ICT department showcased the EV4EU among selected projects. Students engaged with researchers Klara Anžur and Cecilia Lebarbey, exploring the potential of V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) technologies and how they can participate and co-create the electrification of mobility.


The faculty event was featured in the Slovenian financial newspaper Finance, which included EV4EU in an article titled “When an Electric Car Isn’t Just a Burden on the Grid” (original title: » Ko električni avto ni le breme za električno omrežje «). The piece focuses on how emerging technologies – particularly vehicle-to-grid (V2G) concepts- are redefining the role of electric vehicles (EVs) from passive consumers to active participants in modern energy networks.
Unlike traditional EVs that draw energy from the grid, V2G enables a two-way flow of electricity, positioning EV users as active participants in the energy ecosystem. This bidirectional exchange creates benefits for both the user and the grid by adding flexibility and resilience to the energy system.
During the event at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, EV4EU project representatives presented innovative management systems and new V2X services that are being developed under the scope of the Slovenian demonstrator.
“One of the main challenges could be finding the right business model that will attract EV users to a system in which they are willing to leave their vehicles under the management of energy grid actors when they are not using them,” explained Klara Anžur.
The Slovenian EV4EU Consortium – which includes GEN-I, Elektro Celje, the University of Ljubljana, ABB, and other partners – is working on simulations and strategies to bring V2G solutions closer to real-world deployment.
